Waxing Hair Removal

Waxing Hair Removal

Waxing hair removal is more effective in my opinion compared to Shaving because the hair growth is reduced and in most cases over a period of time the hairs doesn't grow back.

The area becomes patchy. The hair will also be finer and softer in texture. The following can be done:

Waxing Hair Removal
You get longer periods between treatments before the hair grows back on average most people will find that after 2 weeks after their treatment the hair growth will start. This does vary though from person to person.

After the treatment has been done especially when you have been having it done for a while the skin is very smooth. Great to have it done for your holidays, no need to shave. If you are going on a two week holiday it will last.

People who don't want to try waxing hair removal can do home treatments like depilatory creams, which is like shaving in a way. Or use the epilator, which I have been told is sore.

Another option which is popular but a lot more expensive and really good for the face is the Laser Facial Hair Removal or sometimes called IPL. I used to do this treatment with great results especially on the face for example:

  • Lip.
  • Chin.
  • Bikini.
  • Under arms.
  • Legs.
  • Chest.
  • Back.

However I think waxing is really good though and is much more affordable. Waxing Your Legs is something a lot of women are now doing themself...

It has some pitfalls and it really is easier when someone else does waxing hair removal for you, and I'm not just saying that as lots of clients used to say that they have tried it at home but it wasn't easy and gave up.

Okay if you do decide to go to a salon to get your waxing done, do your homework to make sure the therapist is competent, so to help you here is a check list of what the therapist should have done and you can ask about if you need to:
  • This is vitally important, the temperature of the wax as if it is too hot it will burn you. Now this temperature will depend on the type of wax, ie cool or hot wax. Both very different temperatures.
  • Cool wax is usually 43*C and hot wax is usually 55*C but this will depend on the manufacturer, so that is just a guide. So if it is cool wax really it should not feel to hot, don't get me wrong you will feel heat but it won't burn you.
  • When I did clients I always tested the wax on myself first. So this will need to be checked by yourself first, also if it is cool wax it should not look really runny, if it is way to hot, if you think of melted sugar that would burn when it is runny...
  • Hot wax on the other hand will feel much hotter on the skin and should really only be used on courser hair like the bikini area, I have to say I am not a fan, way to hot and so many people are very sensitive.

Next thing is your skin being properly cleansed and prepared, so a pre wax cleanser is used to remove oil, dirt etc and then talc is applied, not all therapists use this but I feel it works and in the past clients did comment on the difference.

What it does it to cause the hair to be raised more, and also creates a barrier between the skin and wax, so makes it less stingy..

Then the wax will be applied and the therapist should never go over an area with wax more than twice, if she does you will get a slight burn, possible bruising etc... the wax needs to be applied in the same direction as the hair growth and pulled of against the hair growth.

Then if there are stray hairs left they can be tweezed and an afterwax lotion or aloe vera gel should be applied to calm the area down.

So in my opinion waxing hair removal is better than the other alternatives and definately lasts longer, giving you a much smoother finish and as I said before sometimes the hairs don't grow back. So give it a go because it is worth it.

One area that I want to talk more about is female facial hair removal.

A lot of women suffer from this so there are a lot of options available like the Laser Facial Hair Removal treatment. It is becoming so popular but can be expensive.

A lot of women though like to do their own waxing hair removal so if you are wanting to do your own then with practice it will become easier.

If you are going for this option you may need some supplies. So whatever you choose all the best and I hope you have enjoyed learning about waxing hair removal.
