Make Up
Make up is a complex and interesting subject, it has been around for centuries going back to the
ancient Egyptians;
we have gained a lot of knowledge from them.
When I was younger I was always experimenting with it, little did I know then where that interest would lead me to. I will give you the knowledge I have gained over the years, give you some make up tips on how to do it yourself.
As women we love it, are intrigued by it, are unsure how to apply it and unsure what colours will suit us, so many dilemmas. And this is an important bit, women's skins are changing and people have allergic reactions to certain products, some women even need gluten free make up
.
Well this is where I can help. Below I am helping you with these dilemas and helping you to have confidence with it. If you should wish to have it applied professionaly, what should you look for in the person etc.
What Are The Benefits Of Having It Applied Professionaly?
Firstly the artist is trained in the art of applying make up, whether it is a daytime look, or evening, or dark eye make up or for a bride on her wedding day. They will give you a makeover that suits you and that you are comfortable with.
It will be long lasting as in for a special occasion it will last all day/night. Some will be showing you step by step as they apply it. Some also do lessons giving you all the tips and techniques you need to apply it yourself at home.
When it is professionally applied it really does make you look different, brings out the beauty you already have. It makes you look and feel younger, gives you more confidence.
I used to offer this service but now I am just sharing my knowledge with you instead. When I was doing make overs I used to use products from Sothys, Patricia Milton and Elain Colorist. They are fantastic companies and the products really do deliver an excellent finish. Also they are good at hiding imperfections giving you a flawless look.
What Should Happen When It is Applied For You?
Firstly they should discuss what you want. You want your make up to make you comfortable and to be confident also. A good tip is to look at their's, how does it look. Next is how it may be applied as in the routine.
The first stage is foundation, this is so important as it needs to blend with your skin tone and look the way you like, e.g. light or heavy texture etc. You can have one of the following: eye shadow, eyeliner, blusher, lipstick, lip-gloss, and some even have sparkly items if you are feeling in the mood or if it is your taste.
The whole experience should be fun. It should last for the occasion. For brides a trial is advisable so that you get the look that you exactly want for your big day.
One thing to bear in mind is I have often came across clients who have said to me in the past what colour their flowers and dresses were.
Personally I based their make over on the colour of your hair, eyes and skin tone. However not everyone works this way so do check first.
So with everything tweequed on your trial, it is easy for the day of your wedding as you will know exactly what the look will be saves a lot of hassle as the last thing you want on your special day is to be stressing on how the make up will look.
It really is a good way to go about things and also it may be a good idea to ask how long they have been doing make overs and their qualifications, but really their make up should be perfect and you should feel confident with them.
And that is one of the main reasons to get a trial before your wedding day. I used to do make overs and taught students at college so the person has to be confident. If in doubt try a few people first or go with recommendations, usually that is the best way.
One thing to be aware of is to be realistic with what you want as in the look, we all have different eye shapes, colours etc. What looks good on one person may not look good on someone else.
What this means is having eyeliner, lip liner or eyebrows tattooed on if you like. It can last up to 5 years in some cases. It is a great alternative and it also means for example you don't need to keep putting your eyeliner on every morning.
For women who find that their eyebrows are thin and patchy or virtually non existent, then it is a great alternative. It can be expensive although it is becoming more affordable now.
Also it gives a lot of women more confidence especially when they have eyebrows.
