I was teaching beauty therapy back in 2000 at Falkirk College, which I enjoyed. It was great to see the students progress in their studies, knowing that I was passing on good knowledge to them to one day make them brilliant professional therapists...
Okay so lets look a bit into the past and learn more about me and how things have gotten me to where I am today. When I was younger I wanted to travel and see a bit of the world.
So I gave up with all ideas and went into the hotel industry doing the silver service waitressing. Left school at 16 with no qualifications and just wanted to get a job and money...
The job came up and I went for it...hard work by the way and long hours... so did this for a few years till I was 19. Then I worked in a clothes shop and eventually got married just 2 months before my 21 and went to live in holland...
This is when my beauty career started 1989. when I lived in Maastricht, I worked in a perfume counter which also sold make up and skin care.
A lady Called Lindy, whom I worked with changed my life by buying me a "Color me beautiful Book" which I still have and cherish today.
She encouraged me to go and get qualifications as she thought I was good at doing make overs...so I did. When I left the Netherlands and came back to the UK I trained at the Park School Of Beauty Therapy and qualified with International Qualifications ITEC, CIBTAC in 1995 and in 1997 did the city and guilds 7307 Stage One Adult Education Certifcate in Teacher Training...
A thing about me is I love learning so later went on to train in Reiki. Anyway eventually after doing jobs in salons, teaching and sales I moved to East Kilbride near Glasgow in 2003.
I set up Veenes Health and Beauty Salon in the Westwood Square. I was the very first Beauty Salon to open in the square which I had for 7 years.
The shop had to sadly close in March 2010 as it was time for a new direction. The universe guides us all in the direction we need to go in...
I want to be able to share my knowledge with you, to help you as unfortunately standards seem to have dropped in this profession. One thing about me is I am Passionate about Beauty Therapy and may I emphasise the words Beauty and Therapy as they are 2 separate Healing Words.
